The Vision Behind Coastal Bloomers
Karen Summers Welsh founded the company in 1998 to bring a more thoughtful, horticulture-driven approach to planting design and garden care. With a degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Clemson University and decades of experience in both Atlanta and the Golden Isles, she built her work around a deep understanding of how plants live, grow, and shape a space over time. Her background includes an award-winning interiorscape firm in Atlanta as well as leadership roles at Sea Island, where she gained extensive experience in residential and resort landscapes.
Today, Karen continues to lead the vision, supported by a team of horticultural professionals who bring knowledge, care, and decades of collective experience to each project.
